Drive from Marrakech to Imlil and trek to Toubkal Refuge via Armed & the Mizane Valley. We will pick you up from your hotel in Marrakech at 8:30 a.m. then drive south towards the High Atlas Mountains to the village of Imlil. Here we will leave our vehicle behind, put our luggage on our mules and head along the Mizane Valley, first towards the village of Armed and then onto the renowned shrine of Sidi Chamarouch where we will enjoy our tasty lunch. From here the trail continues to climb steadily, snaking and zigzagging its way up to the the Toukbal Refuge (3207 m), our stop for the night. Approx. 5 hours walking.

Early in the morning, we begin our ascent to the summit of Jebel Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa. Our route leads us through the south cirque, crossing the stream above the refuge. The climb is generally straightforward, though the loose scree and high altitude can make certain sections challenging.
After enjoying the breathtaking panoramic views from the summit, we make our way back down to the refuge at 3,207 m, where we’ll spend the night and rest after an incredible day of adventure. Approximate walking time: 6 hours.

The next day you retrace your steps back towards Imlil, following the trail through the village of Armed and the Mizane Valley. You will walk around the Berber villages of Imlil Valley to find out more about the lifestyle of the Berbers. Once you arrive back to Imlil, a car will be waiting to take you back to Marrakech.Approximate walking time: 5 hours. And about 1.5 hours’ drive.
